Bagdad Blues

La ville se réveille aux sons de l’appel à la prière et des hélicoptères. Puis le train-train quotidien reprend avec ses marchés et son agitation bluesée. La ville s’apaise en fin de journée au son de l'appel à la prière du soir.

Cette mélodie aux sonorités arabes a été improvisée sur une gamme mineure harmonique. Elle a accompagné Danièle Vallée dans sa présentation sur scène du texte Une catin tiré de son livre Sous la jupe, tableaux de Suzon Demers, paru aux Editions David en 2013.

Baghdad Blues

The city wakes up to the sounds of the call to prayer and of noisy helicopters. Then the daily train-train resumes with its busy markets and its bluesy agitation. At the end of the day, the city calms down again to the call to evening prayer.

This melody with Arabic sounds has been improvised on a minor harmonic scale to accompany Danièle Vallée’s performance on stage telling the story Une catin extracted from her book Sous la jupe, paintings by Suzon Demers, published by Editions David in 2013.
